An Introduction into Reduced Breathing for Health & Performance

breath training Apr 12, 2019

Ever struggle with digestive complaints? Hormone imbalance? Metabolic sluggishness?

It feels like fatigue and intense inertia. You may experience symptoms like menstrual irregularities, difficulty recovering from workouts (if you can even get yourself to workout), and insomnia. Or even moodiness and inability to get moving, especially in the morning.

Let me tell you about what it’s like to adopt a daily breathing practice.

I’m not talking about a meditative-style if breathing, although that can be incredible for a lot of people.

I’m going to talk A LOT about nasal breathing to build CO2 tolerance.

Oftentimes, breathing practices are encouraged to increase oxygenation, and while I am interested in this result, increasing intake of oxygen is not always the answer. And, can even cause more negative symptoms.

Did you know increasing carbon dioxide (CO2) tolerance can increase your bodies ability to distribute oxygen to your organs and tissues!?

It’s called The Bohr Effect.

What this means is that training your bodies ability to tolerate a higher level of CO2 can improve tissue oxygenation. And, when this happens, our metabolic function can improve - improving things like energy, digestion, waste removal, and even respiratory symptoms.

Here’s a quick and easy way to get started with a CO2 tolerance practice: nasal breathe all day everyday. Meaning, stop mouth breathing!

Have you experienced any of these issues? Did you know you can use reduced breathing to improve symptoms?

This is the kind of coaching I provide my online clients! If you’re ever interested in a consult, shoot me a DM!
