The number 1 reason it is so hard to create habit change

education Mar 10, 2017

Ever wonder why it's so hard to change?

Look in the mirror.

That's your biggest challenge.

By design!

Your brain is designed to keep you exactly the way that you are.

It's more predictable and safe.

Your brain is masterful when it comes to habit change.

It will get better at whatever you use it for!

That means it has no problem getting better at the wrong things!

It's about efficiency and survival.

It's up to you to create enough repetition of the right behaviors so that you can earn them permanently.

Otherwise, there is no logical reason for your brain to decide to change.

It would be too energy expensive and threatening to deviate from its original behavior.

At TMP, we are constantly talking to our clients and athletes about the neurology behind habit change and what it actually takes to succeed.

Look in the mirror - that is your biggest challenge.
