Reshape your training to become the complete athlete

13 years later, thinking about my training during my athletic career and observing others, I am confronted with a very hard truth. Most athletes go their entire life without actually ever training.

It's hard to understand, I know. Maybe hard to swallow as well.

When I was an athlete I trained for strength but I never learned relaxation. I trained for stamina but I never learned breathing. I trained for balance but I never moved my head and eyes. I trained for speed but all I received was agility. I trained for flexibility but I was never granted it. I trained for coordination but I was never complex enough to earn it. I trained reaction but didn't know it was vision that held me back.

Looking back gives me perspective. Looking forward gives me excitement as I learn what is truly necessary to deliver to my athletes.

I just can't help but think, did I really train? There is so much to learn!
