3 fundamental concepts for understanding performance through a neurological lens

At TMP, our clients and athletes are very accustomed to hearing us use this language.

So, what is a "threat"?

Simply put, threat is when our brain perceives a movement or activity as dangerous or painful when, in fact, it shouldn't be.

This is a direct indication that the persons brain and nervous system is putting the breaks on.

If you try to increase performance without decreasing threats first, it's likely you won't get very far. If you practice decreasing threats and improve your performance but you never add threat back into your training you will probably end up back where you started, eventually.

This, in my opinion, is one of the main reasons why people's recovery efforts often fail.

So, when you come work with us, we lift the breaks by reducing threats first.

Then, we teach your brain new things to improve your health and performance.

Finally, we challenge the "new you" to create adaptation so that you now have a greater tolerance against incoming threats.

We deliver all of this to you disguised in fitness!

The outcome is amazing and it's so fun!
